Idle,
done well.

A small studio in Denmark making idle games that are calm, fair and made with care. The kind that keep going while you get on with your day.

Our first game lives on your taskbar.

Tankbar is a tiny living aquarium that sits on your Windows taskbar while you work. Hatch and breed fish painted live from their own genes, and watch the tank follow your real clock from dawn to night.

Tankbar’s Zen Pond at night: koi, a goldfish and bettas around a red torii gate and a blossoming bonsai, with an axolotl resting by a lit stone lantern.

47 species, 36 patterns, 10 biomes, and not one fish that can die.

Steam page coming soon
  • The Midnight Abyss biome: glowing mushrooms, crystals and a little lighthouse in the dark.

When the lights go down, the glowing things wake up.

  • The Fish panel over the Nebula Reef, listing named fish such as Iris and Lindiwe, each with its own pattern and colors.

Every fish is one of a kind, and you can name them all.

  • The Nursery panel listing every possible offspring pattern with its chance, shown before breeding.

Breeding odds, shown before you confirm.

Five house rules, in every game.

The idle genre is known for ads, timers and pressure. We think it can be calm and fair instead, so every Idlewell game keeps the same promises.

How each rule works in Tankbar

  • Pay once, no ads.

Optional extras, like a supporter pack or a soundtrack, are cosmetic thank-yous. They never sell power, progress or better odds.

  • Odds in the open.

You see the chances before you commit, and nothing is secretly rerolled behind your back.

  • Nothing lost for looking away.

Nothing you own is harmed, taken or left to decay because you were busy with your life.

  • Your game, your save.

Our games play offline. Online features are optional and never block the game. Saves are backed up and can be exported.

  • Light on your device.

Small footprint, low CPU and battery use, and out of the way whenever you need it to be.

A well is something that quietly fills while you’re away.

That’s the idea behind the name, and behind every game we make. Behind Idlewell is one developer in Denmark who looks at every fish, every screen and every number before it ships.
